Natural Resources

In a highly competitive world, there is great pressure to keep developing talents and skills. As for talent, many say that people are just born with it. As for skills, I believe that the degree to which skills can be developed are largely dependent upon the person trying to develop those skills. Which is why I believe we should place more attention on our personal natural resources, from which skills and talents will naturally arise.

If you look at a country, its main income comes from its ability to effectively and efficiently harness its natural resources. Any country that fails to do this is at a significant disadvantage. I believe it is the same with people, except not much emphasis is placed on this. If you look at the greatest people who have walked this earth, you will find that they all developed their natural resources and expressed it in a tremendous way.

What are our natural resources? Not only do we have so many, but they are so amazing that just to think about them fills me with gratitude. How about thinking? Even the greatest computers cannot rival our sophisticated thought processes. What about our senses? Even the greatest virtual simulators cannot rival our natural senses. What about our bodies? Imagine how much we get to do with our bodies. And what about breathing? Such a seemingly simple thing, but without it, we would simply perish. And the best part of all, most of us are just born with these gifts.

If you look around, you will notice that all great achievers have somehow or someway developed their natural resources. People like Richard Branson, Steve Jobs, and Warren Buffett succeed not because they know more than others, but because they think better than others. People like Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Roger Federer excel because their thinking, senses, and bodies work together in a way that enables them to do amazing things. I believe that if we were to focus on developing our natural resources, we would be amazed at what we are capable of doing, and the rewards would be endless...

  2. Though you can find fault with Tiger's life off the course, I don't think anyone can find fault with Tiger's life on the course...
